Angelique Kidjo was born in Benin but now lives in Paris.

She sings in Fon, Yurba, French and English, and her early influences were Miriam Mekaba and Jimi Hendrix. She's on tour promoting her recent cd "Oyaya!" and a "best of" collection is due out this summer.
