Bangladesh Riven by Political Violence

Boston University sociology professor Nazli Kibria is in Washington, meeting with State Department officials to formally request an inquiry into the death of her father, a prominent politician in Bangladesh.

Former Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria and four others were killed in a grenade attack at the end of January.

We spoke to professor Kibria before her trip to Washington. We also speak with reporter Eliza Griswold, who visited Bangladesh in November. Her article on the assassination ran in the January 23rd edition of the New York Times magazine.
